"The Labor movement and the United Way movement have a lot in common-
we have a rich history and heritage of caring about human needs, justice,
fairness and opportunity. We succeed together when we put our community first.”

Brian A. Gallagher, President and Chief Executive Officer, United Way of America

The United Way of York County is proud of the long-standing partnership we enjoy with organized labor. Since 1974, we have worked together with Labor Community Services of the York-Adams Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, to improve people’s lives and put our community first. Labor representatives serve in key roles within United Way by serving on the Board of Directors, Campaign Cabinet and other volunteer capacities.

The AFL-CIO Community Services Liaison/Director of Labor Participation supports the programmatic workplan of the Labor Council. Below is a list of activities and community services: for detailed information, click on a topic or contact Alan Vandersloot, AFL-CIO Community Services Liaison/Director of Labor Participation.
