What's New?

York County ranks third in the state in the percentage of nationally accredited early childhood education providers. Twenty-four center and home-based providers have achieved this level of high quality.

Three York County educators are among the winners in the national Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care award for excellence in early childhood education. They are Colleen McGranaghan, End of the Rainbow; Heather Miller, York JCC; and Barry Muser, Kiddie Academy.

Focus On Our Future received a grant from the York County Community Foundation to implement Mind in the Making. Developed by the Families and Work Institute, the goals are to help teachers understand the links between social, emotional and intellectual learning. Twelve York County early childhood education programs participated in the 24 hour training program.
