The Volunteer Center is a program of the United Way of York County and is funded, in part, by the York County
Board of Commissioners. As the community's top resource for the mobilization of volunteers,
The Volunteer Center offers the area's only searchable database of local volunteer opportunities.
We network with over 200 organizations in York County and serve as a community contact that provides
information and referral for volunteer and material resources, including an annual Wishes Book.
The Volunteer Center also participates in strategic partnerships that help the community be better prepared
during a disaster and help low-income families build assets through free tax-preparation
services. The Volunteer Center is a member of Volunteer Centers of PA (VCP), one of the five
partners of the Keystone Service Coalition responsible for the Pennsylvania Unified State Plan
for Volunteerism and Citizen Community Service. VCP also works closely with PennSERVE,
the Governor's Office of Citizen Service.
Volunteers are needed everywhere, and you can make a huge impact with only a small
investment of your time. Find out how you can help and get involved today.
