Building Future Leaders of York County is the first conference of its kind in York, Pa. Eight different York County organizations are combining forces to bring this valuable conference to the future leaders of York. The day will incorporate several educational sessions on what it takes to be an organizational leader. Participants will hear from a panel of CEOs and a national keynote speaker, Cordia Wilkinson Harrington. The day will also provide excellent networking opportunities. You don't want to miss this event on May 23, 2017 held at Wyndham Garden York.

Session Descriptions:

Session 1:

The Shift to Leadership: A leader is a visionary committed for the long haul and destined to leave a legacy.  Assuming this responsibility can be overwhelming, come learn how to thrive through the transition.

Understanding the Importance of Communication as Leaders: We will discuss how to identify and adapt to communication styles that differ from our own.  Self- awareness is the most important attribute of successful leaders and professionals.

Get on Board! Community engagement through serving on a board of directors can benefit you personally and professionally. Presenters in this workshop will discuss how to get involved and choose the right organization.

Session 2:

Finding Refreshment: Identifying and Managing Stressors - In today’s fast paced world, changing economic times and more demands with less, individuals are more stressed than ever.  This hands-on session will help individuals recognize signs/symptoms of stress and develop healthy coping strategies.

Entrepreneurship: It’s More than a Job. - Today’s entrepreneur has moved past the job of being an entrepreneur and instead applies a philosophy of life to living as an entrepreneur.  In this session, you will learn how to nurture your own entrepreneurial spirit by using entrepreneurial behaviors in your life, leading to greater success both professionally and personally.

Connecting the Dots - The Connection Economy: The Future of Community-Valued Leadership – Today’s economy is built upon connection. Trust and relationships are the new currency. As community leaders, we explore the strengths of VALUES and VOICE in best positioning your team and brand throughout your community…and in making impact.
