NFL Play60/Healthy Kids Pledge

National Football League & United Way

Kids with access to healthy food options and regular physical activity feel better and perform better in school and life. That’s one of the reasons United Way is teaming up with NFL PLAY 60 to get more kids active and healthy.

The latest research on childhood obesity underscores the measurable progress in communities where United Way and others are bringing people and organizations together to advance youth health. Across the country, NFL teams and players are working with United Ways to increase access to nutritious foods for families and increase opportunities for physical exercise and play.

Sometimes that comes in the form of NFL players exercising their star power to attract kids and teens to free summer meals. Other times it comes in the form of United Ways and NFL teams working together to build new fitness zones, host youth football clinics, rebuild neighborhood playgrounds or upgrade fitness facilities through the annual Hometown Huddle.

All good stuff but the NFL and United Way want to take this effort to a new level. We’re looking to mobilize a corps of passionate fans and supporters to help us tackle childhood obesity.

Get started by taking the HEALTHY KIDS PLEDGE.
