Start brainstorming now; we're here to help! Anything from cleaning to painting to building gardens, playgrounds, and the like. Volunteer signup begins mid-July so it's important to have your projects in as soon as possible. 

Project Guidelines

1. Must serve a need of your organization
2. Must be located in York County
3. Must complete the agency liability waiver
4. Must have an inclement weather plan or notification strategy

Project Ideas

1. Projects should require a minimum of two volunteers to complete
2. Have an adequate number of staff and supplies present to support your project
3. Utilize your volunteers for the full time that they sign up for, and have extra tasks if necessary

Members and guests are invited to join Women United for our next Interviews With Inspiring Women event, featuring Erica Townes on Thursday, August 15, at the Sara Ellen Event Venue. The program runs from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm and includes lunch. This is a free event and all are welcome to attend!

Erica is an associate attorney at Barley Snyder in the Real Estate and Business practice groups. In her real estate practice, Erica assists clients in residential and commercial development, property acquisition, commercial lease negotiations, zoning, and land use concerns. Erica also devotes a substantial portion of her practice to representing businesses of all sizes and sophistication across a variety of industries.

To complement her corporate law practice, Erica has also worked with companies to obtain certification as a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE).

When not practicing law, Erica's firm responsibilities include serving as a member of the firm's Hiring Committee and serving on the firm's Diversity Committee. Erica is also actively involved in the community and currently serves on the board of and is involved with a number of local nonprofit and professional organizations. Prior to joining Barley Snyder, Erica represented public and private employers in a variety of labor and employment law matters.

While not a performer herself, Erica is a musical theatre enthusiast and frequently patronizes New York City and central Pennsylvania theatre productions. Her favorite show running on Broadway is "Hamilton."

Members and guests are invited to join Women United for our next Interviews With Inspiring Women breakfast event, featuring Elle Hale on Thursday, May 16, at the Wyndham Garden York. The program runs from 7:30 am - 9:00 am and includes breakfast.

Originally from Philly (home of the best pretzels and cheese steaks), Elle moved to York County by way of Baltimore over 20 years ago. She was a stay-at-home mom to her now-teen daughter and hopped over into real estate in 2013 for a change of pace.

Elle spends her time volunteering in her local community, as well as the state and local Realtor® associations. She has chaired various committees, served as a Board member for several years and was the 2022 Board President for RAYAC (first Black woman), and helps out at local community events whenever possible. Elle is invested in her community and career, taking her role as a community member and leader seriously. As a new Owner/Broker of one of the few (and possibly only) Black Woman Owned Real Estate Brokerages in York County, Elle is breaking down barriers and leading the way for a better home-buying experience.

Members and guests are invited to join Women United for our next Interviews With Inspiring Women lunch event, featuring Tracy Miller on Thursday, February 22^nd, at Heritage Hills Resort in York. The program runs from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm and includes lunch.

Tracy is the Chief Nursing Officer/ Vice President of Patient Care Services at UPMC Memorial. The hospital is part of a larger health system that includes 42 hospitals, an insurance division, and an international health division. Tracy is responsible for strategic, financial, and operational direction for the hospital which includes 500 + nurses across the 104-bed facility. She is actively involved in strategic operations across the system. 

Tracy was born and raised in York County. She attended Dover Area High School and attended York College of Pennsylvania where she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing.  She received a master’s in health administration through the University of Phoenix and received her Nurse Executive Certification through the American Nurse Credentialing Center. 

She is a member of the Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders, Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society, and American Nurses Association.  She graduated from the Executive Connection Program in 2022 and currently is a board member of York College of Pennsylvania Alumni Relations.  She serves as a mentor to nursing students in the YCCOSP program and is a member of Women United through the United Way.

Tracy has a daughter Lindsay, who is married and has two children Jordyn and Camden. In Tracy’s spare time, she likes to travel to different places and fun is always on her radar.  

Interviews With Inspiring Women is an opportunity for Women United members to gather, socialize with one another, and hear the experiences of an inspirational woman in our community. This is a relaxed environment where questions are encouraged, as well as plenty of laughter. This is a free event, all are welcome.
