United Way of York County is pleased to offer rideshare vouchers to eligible York County ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households for transportation to one of the following essential destinations:

  • Work
  • School
  • Childcare
  • Healthcare appointments
  • Grocery shopping 

Before applying, please note the following eligibility requirements:

  • Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Participants must have a smartphone with the Lyft app installed and activated.
  • Participants must be able to receive text messages, as vouchers will now be distributed via text message.
  • Vouchers are intended for trips within York County, Pennsylvania.

How it works:

  1. Complete and submit the form below.
  2. Eligible applicants will receive their Lyft voucher via text message within 3 days of submission.
  3. The voucher may be used for transportation to one of the approved destinations listed above.

Voucher Details:

  • Each voucher covers up to $20 per Lyft ride, including a $5 driver tip.
  • Any costs exceeding $20 are the responsibility of the participant.
  • Participants may request up to two (2) vouchers per month.
  • Vouchers expire two (2) weeks after they are issued.
  • Unused or expired vouchers cannot be reissued or extended.

Submission of a request does not guarantee voucher approval. Voucher availability is subject to program funding, eligibility requirements, and program capacity.
