September is Attendance Awareness Month!
Join us in promoting the importance of regular school attendance for all students from preschool through 12th grade, whether virtually or in person! There are many different ways you can get involved as an individual, organization, or school. Many students miss school because they don't have simple items such as alarm clocks, personal hygiene items, or school supplies. This year, as part of Attendance Awareness Month in September, United Way of York County is getting involved to help decrease chronic absenteeism by collecting the following items for students:
- Alarm Clocks
- Personal Hygiene Items (Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine products, hairbrushes, and lotion)
- Lice Kits and Lice Shampoo
Help us raise awareness!
Take a photo of your child going to school (virtually or in person!) and post it on social media with the hashtag #gotoschoolyork
Don't forget to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to see and share our posts about Attendance Awareness Month. We look forward to hearing from you!
