Attendance Awareness Month

September is Attendance Awareness Month!

Join us in promoting the importance of regular school attendance for all students from preschool through 12th grade, whether virtually or in person! There are many different ways you can get involved as an individual, organization, or school. Many students miss school because they don't have simple items such as alarm clocks, personal hygiene items, or school supplies. This year, as part of Attendance Awareness Month in September, United Way of York County is getting involved to help decrease chronic absenteeism by collecting the following items for students:

  • Alarm Clocks
  • Personal Hygiene Items (Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, feminine products, hairbrushes, and lotion)
  • Backpacks
  • Lice Kits and Lice Shampoo
With your help, we can make a difference in the lives of children in York County and motivate them to attend school every day.
