Join us for our second Women United Interview with Inspiring Women event featuring Grace T. Quartey.

Grace T. Quartey is a Certified Public Accountant, business leader, and community advocate, with more than thirty years of professional experience in taxation, accounting, and financial consulting. 

Grace earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and her MBA from the University of Baltimore, and she has been a licensed CPA since 1994. She is licensed in both Maryland and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Over the course of her distinguished career, Grace has served in a wide range of financial and leadership roles, including Financial Consultant with Smith Barney, Compliance Auditor for the State of Maryland, Accounting Analyst for the County of Accomack in Virginia, and Controller for a nonprofit organization on Virginia's Eastern Shore. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Grace is deeply committed to service. She is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Building Solid Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to fostering sustainable development in rural Ghana by building meaningful relationships between York County residents and Ghanaian communities. Her past community leadership includes service on the boards of the York County Community Foundation, Downtown Inc., Memorial Health Fund, and many other civic organizations. She is also a past president of the West York Rotary Club.

Grace's career reflects a rare blend of technical excellence, expertise in leadership, and a lifelong commitment to giving back.

Change is rarely a straight line, especially for women balancing career goals, financial stability, and family responsibilities. This dynamic panel, hosted by Women United of United Way of York County, brings together real women who have navigated career pivots.

• Maintained (and sometimes rebuilt) financial stability during times of transition. 

• Took risks, built resilience, and found the support they needed to keep going.

This conversation is not just about careers; it is about resilience, financial empowerment, and the kind of community that makes transformation possible.

Attorney Mieke Driscoll has built a remarkable career in law, focusing on real estate, municipal law, and non-profit law. She joined CGA Law Firm over a decade ago and now serves as the Chair of the Business Department and a member of the Executive Committee.  

Mieke has worked with clients ranging from small local organizations to large corporations, helping them achieve their business goals with a personal and efficient approach. She advises businesses and non-profits on structuring deals, navigating regulations, and addressing legal obligations. Her work also includes drafting ordinances, contracts, and guiding municipalities on zoning, planning, and land use issues.  

Mieke is deeply involved in her community. She serves on several boards, including the York Symphony Orchestra and York County Community Foundation, and has been recognized as a Central Penn Business Journal Woman of Influence.  

When she’s not practicing law or volunteering, Mieke enjoys giving back to her community through leadership roles and mentoring others in the field.
